How accurate is it?
It handles clear speech very well, including punctuation and sentence breaks. Heavy background noise, several people talking over each other, or a very quiet microphone will cost you accuracy, as they would with any transcription.
What do I get back?
The full text on screen to read or copy, and three downloads: .txt for plain text, .srt and .vtt for subtitles. The subtitle files carry the timings, so they line up with your video.
Is it free?
Yes. You can edit and download a video in your browser for free. There is a daily limit, and free exports carry a small BeforeNow watermark. The app removes the watermark.
Do I need an account?
No account and no app install. You enter an email address so we can send you the finished video and keep the free limits fair, then you can start uploading.
What can I upload?
MP4 and MOV video, JPG and PNG images, up to 10 clips per video. Everything runs from the browser, so you can use the footage already on your phone or laptop.
